Quality you can audit before you buy

Overseas volume buyers ask for quality packs first. This page is the shared source of truth, so sales does not re-answer the same checklist on every deal.

Quality commitment

Volume buyers need a named standard, a release path, and a claims rule before the PO. We hold partner lines to the inspection plan on the quote: IPC class, test coverage, and lot paperwork. SQE, purchasing, and engineering all review the same pack.

Certificates

The facts a purchasing team needs before requesting formal copies. Signed certificates are issued with an NDA or PO.

ISO 9001:2015 quality management system

Held by the partner factory that runs your build. Named on the quotation before you release the order.

IPC-A-610 Class 2 vs Class 3

Name the class on the RFQ. Default is Class 2. Switching after quoting changes workmanship criteria, yield, and price.

Class 2: dedicated service electronics

Default for most industrial and commercial products. Balances reliability and cost when continuous operation matters but the environment is not extreme.

Class 3: high performance and harsh duty

Tighter cosmetic and workmanship criteria where downtime is unacceptable (medical-adjacent, selected automotive/industrial). Request it at RFQ. Cost and yield impact apply.

Inspection flow

Standard PCBA release path on qualified partner lines. X-ray applies to hidden-joint packages; ICT/FCT is added when fixtures and your procedure are provided.

  1. 01

    IQC incoming

Lots are checked against the PO, MSL, and approved vendor list before they enter SMT.

  2. 02

    SMT

Placement and reflow with the SMT program revision locked to the assembly lot.

  3. 03

    AOI

Post-reflow optical inspection for polarity, missing parts, and visible solder defects.

  4. 04

    X-ray

BGA / QFN hidden joints sampled or 100% per the inspection plan on the quote.

  5. 05

    Test

ICT and/or FCT when fixtures, coverage, and pass/fail criteria are agreed.

  6. 06

    OQC outgoing

Outgoing check against packing list, cosmetic criteria, and ship-lot paperwork.

Inspection capabilities

Methods available on the partner lines we quote. Fixture-based ICT/FCT needs lead time for jig build.

  • AOI

Automated optical inspection after reflow for polarity, missing parts, and solder anomalies.

  • X-ray

BGA / QFN joint integrity and void checks on hidden pads.

  • ICT

In-circuit test for opens/shorts and basic component values (fixture may be required).

  • FCT

Functional test executed to your procedure, fixtures, and pass/fail criteria.

Traceability

Lot IDs link board panels, component batches, SMT program revisions, and shipping cartons. On request we map serials or date codes to production records for field-return analysis.

  • Lot ID

Finished assemblies and cartons carry a lot ID used across quality records and shipping documents.

  • Material lots

Key component batches are recorded against the assembly lot for field-return analysis.

  • Production records

SMT program revision, inspection results, and ship papers are tied to the same lot ID.

Defect handling & compensation

Confirmed process defects are reworked or replaced under the order warranty window. Claims require photos, lot IDs, and a failure description. Commercial compensation follows the signed quotation and quality agreement, not informal chat promises.

Third-party inspection

Buyer-appointed inspection can be scheduled at the partner site with advance notice. Cost is borne by the buyer or shared by written agreement.

  • SGS

Incoming, in-process, or pre-shipment inspection (PSI) arranged to your checklist.

  • Bureau Veritas (BV)

Witness builds and packing checks when your SQE cannot travel to the line.

  • TÜV

Third-party reports shared digitally after the visit; we coordinate access, not the auditor’s verdict.
